Data integration management
For more than a decade, the HITS eHealth Office, in partnership with Hamilton Health Sciences, has operated and expanded ClinicalConnect from a homegrown digital health solution used within Hamilton Health Sciences’ hospitals, to the provincial clinical viewer used across south west Ontario by all types of healthcare organizations. Leveraging proven, iterative integration processes, data from a myriad of health information systems has been successfully aggregated in ClinicalConnect, offering a one-stop-data-shop to authorized users. The HITS eHealth Office looks for ways to continuously expand and extend the functionality of ClinicalConnect, without reinventing the wheel each time – this quest for system interoperability led us to secure funding from Canada Health Infoway to integrate ClinicalConnect with the MyChart patient portal, now offering patients’ real-time, online access to their health records from ClinicalConnect’s data-contributing organizations as opposed to integrating their systems one-by-one with MyChart.
Our Data Integration Management group works with organizations that use health information systems that contain Personal Health Information (PHI) that can be aggregated in ClinicalConnect or a Patient Access Channel, or configure the launch of these digital health systems to/from otherwise disparate health information systems so providers and patients can seamlessly access additional health data not already available within the local system to help create a more holistic view of patients’ health journeys.
We work with organizations to:
• Assess data integration and/or contextual launch opportunities from your health information system to/from digital health solutions
• Develop use cases for the shared, mutual benefit of organizations using provider and patient-facing tools
• Prepare and submit proposals to relevant funding organizations
• Manage integration of data or systems through to completion, communicating with all relevant stakeholders, including system end users, along the way
